• I just moved server, and before on my old server, if anybody commented on my blog etc I would receive a notification email telling me to moderate the comments

however after moving server, I’m not receiving emails any more for people leaving comments to be moderated etc

so I was wondering there is a requirement for your server that allows wordpress to send its email to you to notify about various moderations that need to be done? Im guessing I don’t have that requirement for my server?!

  • That shouldn’t be the case in general. Are you sure you activated the setting for it when you made the move? You’ll find them under ‘options’ -> ‘Discussion’.

yeah, the options under discussion are activated. So what else could it be?? =(

A bit late, but the same happened to me, not after a server move, but after I changed my administrator email. It appeared, from a discussion on the support forum of my hosting provider, that only outgoing email to “known” email addresses was supported, “known” meaning addresses on hosts that they host themselves.

When you changed hosts, the DNS record tied to that site was likely deleted. I had the same problem and I had to have my hosting company go add the record back in. It was ugly.
