• I moved my site up one directory to the root, and all of the paths to the images that i added thru the wp-admin did not update. I had to manually delete them all and reupload them to the site. How can I avoid having to do this in the future. (The images that were coded into my site were fine. Just the ones uploaded thru the editor were problematic).

  • The path (URI) for images in posts is stored in the database, like
    example.com/subdir/wp-content/uploads/etc/image.jpg

Now, eliminating the “subdir” part – those links don’t work, of course.

In the future you can use the Search&Replace plugin:

thanks for the info! when u say stored in the database, does that mean i use php myadmin to eliminate the “subdir” part?

    thank you
