• I know this is a permissions issue, but I could use come clarification.

I am moving my site from shared hosting to AWS Linux hosting. Everything is setup, the database is copied over and now I have to copy the content.

When I try to FTP the files over, I get errors saying it doesn’t have the correct permissions.

My WP files are in /var/www/html, when I was looking at this I found I’d have to do a sudo chown to change the permissions to copy the files and then do it again to change them back.

Is that really the best way to do this? Is there a better way?
