• Hi,

Im hoping that someone has had experience of this or can at least give advice on things to look out for, or instructions on how to successfully implement the following.

I set up a site some time ago, that is doing well, however I have decided to give it an overhaul- and tidy up issues that I have identified.( and this I inadvertently built into the site structure DOH!)

At the moment the WORDPRESS build is in it’s own folder,/BLOG/ with HTML pages for the main sections of the remainder of the site. i.e .index.html , .about.html etc

I want to move the wordpress to the ROOT, and then copy the 10-20 pages that I have in HTML to the WORDPRESS build.( happy to do this manually)

Will wordpress stand up to just moving the stuff in the /BLOG/ folder to the root?

I have a reasonable number of back links to internal BLOG pages, eg https://www.example.com/blog/something . is their a .htaccess redirect that I can do that will handle implementing 301 redirects on ALL of the links that point to pages currently in the /BLOG folder, to send them to the root ? and similarly redirecting all of the links with the extension .HTML to the new wordpress .PHP pages?

Any help or advice around this would be great.
