• Hello all, sorry if this isn’t the correct thread. Please remember, i’m one step above using rock and paper. I’m not technologically inclined so all the tech details just goes right above my head.

I have two blogs, https://www.encouragehealthyhabits.com and https://www.thetechgadget.com that I currently have at a paid hosting site. I would like to move them to a free webhost, as I can no longer afford the web hosting fees at the current webhost. I’ve heard and may have read in the wordpress help sections that wordpress does free webhosting?

I found two free web hosting services but they require knowledge of programming or something similar.

Both blogs are on WordPress.com, using their themes but hosted on another site. I own both domains as well. I have another site i’d like to develop/create but doing so from the ground up with no tech expertise is daunting.

  • If both blogs are on wordpress.com, why do you need hosting at all?

They are currently hosted on bluehost but i cannot afford it any longer. I need to find a free hosting site that is easy to change over to and doesn’t require programming/advanced tech knowledge.

cwbybrick, I took a look at your blog. I like it. Can you tell me how to get that “sharing/bookmark” header you have on all posts? I’d like to add a subset of that onto my own blog. Thanks.

You’ll need to find a free hosting site that supports mySQL and PHP5. I also don’t understand what you mean by “Both sites are on wordpress.com” Why don’t you just move them to thetechgadget.wordpress.com?

PS: You might want to remove the “33 Unique Visitors Powered By Google” widget. It’s kind of depressing!

    The sharing/bookmark was a widget(s) or addin/plugin.

I dont understand anything else you said. All I know is I can’t afford the hosting fees at bluehost any longer and need to find a free place to park them.

I’ve been looking for about 9 months now and beginning to think it’s not possible. There are free hosting networks out there, but i’m not a coder, programmer or techie.

I’m sorry but we do not encourage hosting threads due to the amount of spam they attract, so I’m now closing this thread. In the meantime, I suggest that you try search the forums for hosting recommendations – although you’ll find that free hosting is not recommended if you want to use WordPress.
