A site was moved from single install to MU. Categories started ating ‘weird’ – meaning, that when entring a new category, for example “Chicken”, press enter, and “Common Sense” would show up in the category list. That’s officially weird. I cannot find rhyme or reason for it -the word that appears is used in recent posts – recent meaning the last 3 months (or 200 posts).

So, we export xml, fresh 3.0 install, and install a single WP blog, with xml. And teh categories are all mixed up. Tags are enterd as categories in the db. And no categories seem to have parents . THe “Group _ ID” is blank for all. Terms & term taxonomies are both around 1,700 entries in db, and term relationships are around 15,000. Does that make sense to you? There are only supposed to be less than 100 categories are several hunded tags.

Anyone have similar problems? Or solutions?

    thank you!

Also figured by trial and error that when there is a duplicate sub-cat for several categories, the parent-cat nice name is appended to the childcat’s slug. That would have been nice to know before hand. ??
