Moving Directories on Existing Server. How does this affect incoming links?

Hello, I have a blog https://mydomain.com and would like to move it to https://mydomain.com/blog so I can start fresh with a new website at https://mydomain.com.

If I follow the instructions here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Moving_WordPress#Moving_Directories_On_Your_Existing_Server, what would happen to an incoming link to mydomain.com/example-post? Would it be redirected somehow to mydomain.com/blog/example-post? I’m trying to avoid broken links.
