Moving Entire Install to Main Domain

Hi ,I installed headwaytheme /wordpress on

https://www.mydomain.com/blog but now after getting half way through building content,I’ve decided to use it for my whole site instead of just my blog.
If I’m going to install on https://www.mydomain.com/ I know can I export my headway theme (.hwcfg) but how can I transfer my content also ?

Should I just leave the site on the blog just now ,install a fresh worpress on the main domain ,import headway and then figure out how to get the content over ?
I just don’t don’t want to lose 5 days work at the click of a button !
