• I’m moving a site from a custom CRM to WordPress, in their old system they could say if it was a blog post, a PDF, or a link. If it was a PDF or link, the content box would go away and they’d enter the link or upload a file.

I thought Post Format may be the way to go, and there is one for “Link” that seems to match up well, but I’m not sure what to do with all the old “posts” that are really just PDFs to view/download.

I’d like to avoid them having to click on the Post Title and then click a post that is basically blank and just the PDF as it an education site geared toward the K-8 American community, so the easier the better.

I have added the PDFs to my Media Library and don’t mind programming the theme to recognize it’s PDF only content, but I’m honestly unsure the best way to tell WordPress this is an old PDF only piece of content.

In the future they may continue to use PDF only content, or write about the PDF (which is great out of the box), and I don’t want to use a Custom Post Type (too confusing in Admin) or add tags or categories to these (too confusing on front end) so I thought Post Format would be helpful.

Would it be best to use the “Link” post format for all these and just have some be links external and some be links to my Media Library of PDFs, or is there a better way to set this up?

    Thanks!
