• I maintain several different WP blogs and have come to really love the platform. My primary business website is NOT based on WP, but does have a WP blog associated with it (the blog is at https://www.scraster.com/blog). I’d like to move the HTML website to WP and have the blog and website live on one install/DB, but I can’t figure out how to do it without totally spilling my Google juice!

I have worked very hard to attain my high page rankings for my target keywords with both my website and blog. Does anyone have any idea of how I can move them both to my domain’s root and retain as much of my hard-earned Google rank as possible? Thanks very much.

  • Make sure the pages have the same address. If your new page URLs don’t match the filenames of your old pages (I’m not talking about index.htm here, those should be fine) you should set up a 301 moved permanently redirect to your new content for each page.

If you need a hand doing this let me know.

    Cheers,
    Robert
