• Background first-

Ive one site online as it is. Ill call this site1. As far as im concerned I got lucky wit this, I trawled through the database file doing a whole lot of editing, but since ive been reading that I dont need that.

On my host system I have site1.com, and now registered site2.com.

    I built site2 locally, as i did with site1.

Ive exported the db, imported it through myphp (creating new db and user as i went, edited the wp-options bit. Ive copied all of the files from the folder within my htdocs into my host. ive changed wp-config to match the earlier settings.

But still not working? I have also tried editing the db manually and using that, as before and according to some notes I had, but still getting nothing aside from the Server not Found message on firefox.

    Any suggestions?

Ive gone through that a couple of times but still nothing-

Im assuming it could be a problem on my hosts end- I cant get anything to display on my domain, i even tried a basic wp install there and couldnt get the install page up?

Then that does sound like you have a hosting issue.

is site2 set on a addon domain name or you using directory if is addon domain name then may is configured right.

is not configured right I can not edit my post

Thank you both for the replies- esmi thats pretty much what I thought given where im at right now, so at least im on the right track.

govpatel, site2 i think is addon- as in it is not the one i purchased the first day i set up my site1?

I purchased it recently, so what should i configure it to?

apologies for going off topic, maybe the information will be of use to someone else too!

Normally First you need to point the domain name to your host if you bought it from other registrar then your host.

when you add a domain name in your account you need to point it a folder in your root directory witch will the root for your addon domain name.
