actually, i’m not trying to backup wordpress itself…i’m trying to get my lockergnome entries imported into wordpress and i’m looking for info on how to do that. can anyone help? the company lockergnome uses is ‘blogware’.

You could try /wp-admin/import-rss.php to import the RSS of you site as posts into WP. It’s kind of the generic import script, but it can be a bit buggy.

i tried following the instructions and it seems like it should have worked, since it said ‘all done’ when i finished. but when i looked, it imported nothing at all. perhaps the format of the xml is wrong? you can look at the file here:
    https://www.outchy.com/wp-admin/rss.xml
any ideas on how i should proceed?

Well, it has to be valid to be imported correctly, but that feed is too big for FeedValidator. Try to get a smaller chunk and run it through https://www.feedvalidator.com

Did you ever get this worked out?
I’m trying the same thing using the .xml file that blogware creates.
The import-rss.php file seems to find the file, but does not process it.
There is no way to maipulate the file on the blogware end that I’m aware of.
Is there some way to make it play nice and import into wp?
