Moving from Staging to Live

    Hi,

    I just wanted to ask what the best way to migrate the Staging version of the site back to Live site is?

    I am presuming that if the plugin creates duplicate tables in existing database, then potentially I can just migrate the ‘files and folders’ of the staging site and overwrite the ‘files and folders’ of the live site?

    Or am I completely off the mark?

    Hello Matt,

    usually copying the theme and plugin folder manually to the live site should be possible without any issues. Do not forget to make a backup before you go this step.

    Many thanks for that.

    I had another thought.

    Install new theme on live site
    Export Theme settings
    Import Theme settings into new live site

    but that still leaves the manual deactivating of 20 plugins ??

    Anyway, many thanks for the confirmation
