• Hello,

I want to change my webhost and was wondering how to do it with the WP Migration plugin.

    I will keep my domain.

Recently the actual host changed the nameserver to use the CDN of Cloudflare.

Could anyone explain me how the change to the other host would function in steps?

    Thank you.

You have a bigger issue to address before you deal with migrating your site.

How was your host able to change the nameservers of your domain? That’s done through the domain registrar; your hosting company should never have that ability.

You should transfer your domain to a new registrar ASAP, and do not allow your current host to access the domain’s DNS. Otherwise you may not be able to use your domain name with the new hosting company.

    Hi, @michaeltaube

There are a few detailed articles on moving WP that can help you

Although there are cases where your hosting company is also the registrar of your domain name and you can make changes trough them, they should never make any changes on your behalf. I agree with @diondesigns that you should consider transfering your domanin to another registrar.

    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards

    Hello,

    Thank you for your replies.

My actual hosting company registered the domain for me. I asked them to make the changes in the nameservers and thy did it without a problem.

@vladytimy thanks for mentioning the articles. It seems like the second one is fitting my needs.

    Kind Regards,
    Michael
