Moving Posts and Their Comments To Different Categories

  • I need to condense my blog. It has too many categories, so I thought I could delete them all, causing the posts and attached comments to be placed into the default category.

    After I do that, I would create two new categories and them move the posts into the appropriate new category.

    Can somebody suggest a plugin that would help me move the posts, along with the comments they’ve collected, into the new categories? I’ve spent a bit of time looking through the various plugins but couldn’t find anything that looked like it would help.

  • I’d also like to know how to just move one or a couple posts from one category to another. Is this possible without deleting/copying?

    Yes, that’s easy…

    Go to the AdminPanel and click Manage near the top. A list of your posts will appear.

    Click on the title of the post you want to move. The edit box for that post will appear.

    Next comes Tags, then Categories. Click the arrow at the left of the Categories heading and you will see a list of categories.

    Check the catetory(ies) you want that post to appear in, then Save, and you’re done!
