Moving posts from one page (main blog page) to new page

  • Hello,

    I am currently helping a group revamp their WordPress site. The person who set it up for them–let’s just say made a royal mess and basically picked the most basic blog to put up. (Apparently, they were months behind putting this up because they were working on a project for their job–why they didn’t just tell the group they simply couldn’t do this volunteer thing I’ll never know)

    Anyway, I’m starting to re order things and in an effort to reduce clutter I’m trying to move some things off the main page and to a new page I have created. I’m not sure this is even possible since they are posted now to the main page but I was just wondering.

  • What exactly is your question? You can put content anywhere you want to. If you do not want posts on the home page, select a static homepage. If you do want posts on a page you can place them anywhere with a widget- It mostly depends on the theme and your HTML/CSS/PHP skills

    I made my question perfectly clear. What is unclear about it?

    The person who set the page up made it an extremely simple blog style page (I believe using Twenty Eleven Theme). Furthermore, the former website developer basically made this slapdash because it was four months behind on schedule and the group was finally demanding the site be ready by a firm date.

    Since I have to explain this again, the content for some of these is already posted on the front page. I have created a new page that I would like these things to go so when I start to get to the nitty gritty of revamping these will be on the new page. I have already spoken to one of the other administrative users and they know to put new posts of this type on that page. That doesn’t help with these other old posts..does it? I have consulted with another developer and they don’t know what to do and I have an associates degree in Computer Programming and I can’t figure this out.

    This is the second time I’ve asked a question on this forum and I’ve gotten attitude. Can someone help me or not?
