• Hi, I am re-building a site for a client with a new theme. The original site was built on HTML5-blank and the client wants a news page as in the original site. The original site has 3 custom templates for these pages. My question is can I copy and move those templates to the new site I am building? Will they work as is or do I have to modify them to make them work with the new theme. I am building the site with Pinnacle theme by Kadence. Thanks for any help with this, Janek

    Hi Jan,

We can’t really know if they’re going to work without knowing the code on those custom templates. If you want a safe way of testing themes I would recommend setting up a copy of your website locally: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#Local_Installation_Instructions

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the reply. Rather than running the site on MAMP on my Mac I am building the site on our server as a sub-domain so I think that I will just try them out in the child theme and see what happens. There should not be any bad code as the site I am re-creating has been going for a few years with no code problems. Regards, Janek
