Moving the image directory

  • Hey,

    I’m interested in setting my images up on a different sub-domain, such as images.mywebsite.com. I heard this can possibly speed up browsing speed. I’m not sure if it helps or hurts SEO though. Any insights?

    Also, is there a way I can create the sub-domain and move the images to the new sub-domain without having to redo a majority of my image links? I know there will be a few to do manually, I’m just looking for an “easy way out.”

    I just did some more reading, and realized I have no idea what I was talking about.

    I’ll have to read up a little more on this. If anyone has a good, fast way to “parallelize downloads across hostnames” I’d appreciate a tip in the right direction.
