I want to change my current page ( schwarzgrau.com ) to my newly created website, based on wordpress. Unfortunately I build the new site not in the root-directory, but in a folder called “schwarzgrau” too. So the url of the new site is schwarzgrau.com/schwarzgrau/. Now I want to be able to access the new site through schwarzgrau.com.

    1. I could link my domain to the folder, but then I would be unable to access the other files and folders on my root-directory. So this method seems to be pretty useless.

    2. Is it possible to move the contents of the “schwarzgrau”-folder to the root-directory without any problems? This method would clutter up the root-directory of my webspace, but it seems a better solution then number one.

    3. Do somebody know a possibility to move only the index.php and redirect everything, without getting weird urls like “schwarzgrau.com/schwarzgau/pictures”? Maybe this is possible with htaccess. I would try it by myself, but the last time I played with the .htaccess-file I messed everything up.

I guess this is a common issue, but I can’t find something in the forums.
