• I’m moving my WP to a new host. I’ve exported, backed up, copied, edited config.php, made new mysql tables, all that.

When I go to my test site, I get a blank page. When trying to troubleshoot this, I thought I might attempt to look at permissions problems. When I did this, I was surprised to see that I can’t read any of my permissions (using Nautilus for FTP). Very confused by this.

It’s difficult for me to tell whether this is a problem with my WP installation, or with my host move as a whole, because I can’t see permissions anywhere (even outside the WP installation).

I just want to bark up the right tree. Which one shall it be?
And what info should I post to get good advice? Thanks, anyone.

  • Well, who is your host? Someone here might have experience with them. If you uploaded the whole wordpress folder, you should have files like ‘license.txt’ in there. Can you read that ok? An URL would help too.
