• OK, i am moving wordpress to another server. I run both the old and the new server and have full access to them both. My Mysql install reside on another server that i have full access to. I followed the codex on moving from one server to another (with the exception of moving the DB cause it is the same DB and is on a different server). I also searched here for some help. So, i have copied the old install to the new server and when trying to go to the new server from inside the network, i get Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress. This new server comes with php5 and i have the php5-mysql extension and the apache2-php extensions installed. Can someone help move wp from one server to another?

EDIT-I wonder if php5 works with mysql 4.0.18?

OK, so no one has replied to this yet and after some research on the mysql site, i still am unsure whether mysql 4.0.18 will work with php5. I may upgrade to mysql 4.1. also, can anyone inform me about how perl plays into this or does it not play into wordpress/php/mysql? A little confused. So, what i have done is matched all the installed components from the old working server to the new not-working-yet server and all the same components are installed. So, to me it looks like mysql will need to be upgraded? Can anyone confirm that php5 and mysql4.0.xx do not play together?
