Moving WordPress, keeping files/settings

I am developing a WordPress site on a folder under my main site until it is complete. I will want to just move it to the client’s domain after completed. What I want to know is how to do this so that all the settings, pages, media (and the tags for what pics are ‘attached to’ custom css stay in tact, and how to backup the database of posts.
