Moving WordPress – showing invisible file
-
I will be moving my wordpress site from a subdirectory to the root folder. I was reading up on this and had a quick question about this:
2. If you want to move WordPress to your root directory, make sure all index.php, .htaccess, and other files that might be copied over are backed up and/or moved, and that the root directory is ready for the new WordPress files.
Besides backing up the files, what else do I need to do to make sure the root directory is ‘ready’ for the wordpress files? ie: “and that the root directory is ready for the new WordPress files.” It didn’t have a link so I am not sure if there is anything else since I don’t need to install wordpress again…
Also, I use FETCH for my ftp and on some sites it shows the .htaccess file and on this particular one that I want to move it won’t show it. Which makes me think that I do have invisible files to show since I can see them on some sites. So any ideas/suggestions on why I can’t see it with this one site? Does it run site by site?
Thanks very much.
