Moving wordpress to new directory – no links have the new url

  • Hi all,

    Long story short: Hosting got cancelled and I’ve been given all my wordpress files. Ive now moved hosts, and want to load my site on a subdirectory.

    I’ve tried, and so far i’ve got: islandbooks.tc/old1

    All the data is there, however the links to images / css ect are all pointing to islandbooks.tc not isladnbooks.tc/old1

    Does anyone know how to fix this ?

    Hi sharebwic,
    For migrating any site you have to move your whole wordpress package to new location as well you need to migrate the database for updating the new location and url saved in the database then export the database and import it. There are many plugin which is used for database migration. I suggest you to use WP MIGRATE DB(https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-migrate-db/) plugin for migrating database.

    Please check this:

    – go to your sites database
    – find the wp_options table
    – search the “siteurl” and “homeurl”
    – click on the Edit link
    – modify the option_value datas at the siteurl and homeurl: https://islandbooks.tc/old1/
    – save

    Check your site again!

    hehehuhu this didn’t fix the problem, but I’ve accepted the old site as a loss and have moved on .
