Moving wordpress to subdirectory

  • Hello,

    I built a new version of Uno Startups website on a different server, and was trying to place it on another server (which went successfully). The new website is visible on unostartups.com.
    However, I moved the old website files into https://www.unostartups.com/OldWebsiteFiles and I would like to view the old pages to cross reference the content. The home page comes up but any of the menu items do not work.
    I have tried a combination of setting site URL in functions.php, changing index.php, changing wp-config, and none of these have worked!
    Can you help identify why https://www.unostartups.com/OldWebsiteFiles/about-us is routing the the new site that is not in the subdirectory?

  • did you change your settings > general to list the new url?

    No I didn’t, I missed that step and hoped that changing the siteurl in functions.php would achieve it.

    I cannot get to wp-admin of the old site in the subdirectory. what should I do?

    I think you might want to contact your hosting company for help. The old files should have been put in a subdirectory like oldfiles.unostartups.com

    Right now it is “inside” the same directory.
