    Hi guys!

Hoping to get some help with my site. Here is some background:

-Had a free WordPress.com site for 3 years
-While using the free WordPress.com site, I paid the $13/year for Domain Mapping after purchasing the domain name through Namecheap.com (so the site was accessed from example.com instead of example.wordpress.com)
-I purchased hosting through Hostgator and have migrated the site over
-I’ve updated the DNS settings through my registrar (namecheap.com) and am waiting on propagation to complete.
-I am redirected to the wordpress.com version of the site and the wordpress.com (not .org) admin dashboard when attempting to visit the site.
-I either get a Privacy Security warning, a Hostgator 404 Page Not Found error, or an Oops, the page you’re looking for isn’t here error displayed on the old wordpress.com site.

    My Questions:
-Is it typical to get Page Not Found error messages during DNS propagation?
-Do I need to do anything on WordPress.com in regards to Domain Mapping (cancel it or redirect it)?

If there’s any other tips or advice you have with this changeover, please let me know!

Thank you in advance for all your help!

  • I can see your page fine, did you resolve this? If you can’t see it clear your browser cache.

Little advice, enable Gzipped in Httaccess and your website will speed up from how it is now.
