• I let a friend of mine put her WP blog on a sub-directory of my website; a few weeks ago, when I realized I was going to have to change hosting companies, I did a back up of her blog and saved all the files onto my computer; over a few days I actually ran two backups and saved the files in different directories on my computer.
I’ve been trying since late last week to get her site back up and running on my new hosting package.
I install WP in a subdirectory, created a new database using cpanel and created a user and password for it, as the instructions I was using said.
I unzipped all 103 folders and found the database file and tried uploading it to the hosting package, but it keeps giving an error message “DROP TABLE wb_video_VY”. according to PHPmyadmin, there are no tables in the database.
I unzipped the other backup and I can’t find a .sql file in it at all.
is there a way around all this? can I set up a new install and just pull all the old files into it?
thanks in advance for any help.
