Mp3 files won't upload

  • Utterly baffled as to why some mp3 files will upload and others won’t! I checked and they are all exactly the same sample rate etc. I remade the offending mp3’s from their source wav files, renamed them, reduced their volume but WP still refuses to upload them. They aren’t too big (4 and 6 Mb) so I can see no other reason they won’t upload. This is the message I get:
    Time Album Res D.mp3 An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

    I have tried over and over again but same message.

    When you click the ‘Add New Media’ link & press the browse button,you’ll see something like: maximum file upload size:
    What is it on your site?

    Have you tried both the browser & multiple file uploader?

    Thanks for your tips Jackie. The two mp3 files that won’t upload are only 4 and 6 Mb. I got the same message on both uploaders. After rebuilding the mp3 files in several different ways I tried converting the original wavs to ogg files and that worked but still no wiser as to why some mp3s upload and some don’t.

    HI there

    I am having the same problem i am supposed to be able to load 64mb and i cant even load 1 gives me a message “sorry this file type is not permitted” i have contacted my hosting they check their side its not them. I have tried mime it only allows word doc and and Jpeg.
    I upgraded today to wordpress 4.7.3 and still give the same message please someone help me?
