Mp3 shoutcast stream not Work in Internet explorer

  • I also have experienced problems with the WordPress [audio] and [video] shortcodes with Internet Explorer 11. The same page works in both Firefox and Chrome but intermittently fails on IE11. When the problem occurs the IE11 console has the following message.

    MEDIA12899: AUDIO/VIDEO: Unknown MIME type.

    The strange thing is that sometimes the exact same page will work and when I use the native HTML5 <audio> and <video> elements using the same sources they always work so I don’t think it is a uninstalled codec problem.
