• On my site I have audiobooks that are made of MP# playlist and are composed of multiple sections, chapters, and mp3s, such as this page….
    https://blabbertalk.com/mindwebs-speculative-fiction-51-100/

The problem is individual mp3s are being indexed and the links lead to the mp3 on it’s own, outside of the original post, like so….
    https://blabbertalk.com/phoenix-ted-white-and-marion-zimmer-bradley/

I would ultimately like to redirect these links back to their original post.
Also, what do you call thes ‘summary’ pages? I’ve had images turn up in the search results that I would also rather redirect to the original post.

I don’t want to lose the indexed links from the search engines because they do lead to my site, but I would rather they lead to the actual post.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks you much.

  • It sounds like you want to: Redirect attachment URLs to parent post URL.
I know that using Yoast has a setting for doing this…
I found this article that has a few different ways.
    https://themeisle.com/blog/redirect-wordpress-attachment-pages/

A key thing is the attachment should have been uploaded to the page you want it on.

    Thanks for the reply.
What’s happening is, individual mp3’s, from ‘playlists’ are being indexed outside of their parent page and playlist as the 2 links in my op demonstrate.

As per your link, I use ‘All in One SEO Pack’ and it says to check the “Redirect Attachments to Post Parent:” checkbox which I’ve already done.
