Hello, I have another problem. I have a two-level affiliate system, where the commission for the “parent” affiliate (level 1) should be detracted from the level 0’s commission, as follows:

    • Customer uses referral link of parent affiliate: 15 € commission generated
    • Customer uses referral link of child affiliate: 10 € commission for child affiliate and 5 € for parent affiliate

The percentage for level 1 affiliate has been set to 33.33%, but the level 0 affiliate is being credited a full 15 €: the level 1’s commission is not deducted from that of level 0.

Is there a way to change this behavior and have the commission for level 0 set to 10 € instead of 15?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @sleonardi65,

Thank you for reaching out! The affiliate that refers the sale is rewarded based on the commission rates you have set in SliceWP > Settings > General > Commissions Settings.

The referring affiliate’s parents commissions are then rewarded based on the rates you have set in SliceWP > Settings > General > Multi-level Affiliates and are calculated based on the referring affiliate’s commission amount.

Please follow our guide on multi-level affiliates to learn how everything works, here: https://slicewp.com/docs/multi-level-affiliates/

    Thank you and best wishes,

    Mihai

    Hello Mihai,

I had already read the guide on multi-level affiliates, but the need is very specific. I need that the commission for the level 1 affiliate be detracted from that of the level 0 affiliate. In the case described above, the level 0 affiliate is being credited 15 € and the level 1 affiliate 5 €, which gives a total commission paid of 20 €. The total commission should be 15 €, just like the case of the single affiliate, but divided as indicated, 10 € for the level 0 and 5 € for the level 1. Is there a way to change this behavior with a code snippet?

    Thanks and regards

    Stefano

    Hey @sleonardi65,

I’m afraid that the system was not built for the scenario you’re looking to implement. The way it works is described in detail in the documentation article that I’ve shared.

Also, from looking at the code, there isn’t an easy way of extending it to work as you’ve described, so I cannot offer you a quick code snippet. As much as I’d love to be able to help you out with this one, I’m afraid that I cannot.

The setup could be implemented, by extending our plugin’s code, however, this falls under custom development work, which is something that we do not offer. We’re happy to provide quick code snippets for quick fixes, however, custom development work is something that we cannot offer.

If you’re looking to extend SliceWP, I recommend contacting a WordPress specialist. The people behind Codeable have WordPress developers on hand for such projects, so I recommend contacting them.

    Thank you and best wishes,

    Mihai

If your product is $100 and your total commission paid out for a sale is $15, why not do this?…

    Parent Affiliate: $10 (10%)

    Child Affiliate: $5 (5%)

The total 15% commission would be $15.
