    Hello,

How would I go about setting up SSL in a multi-network environment. I know that a wildcard SSL cert covers one domain/network. It’s straightforward doing this for the primary domain from the server-side, however, I’m unsure how to add an SSL cert for one of my additional networks.

I have 3 networks, each with multiple subdomains. Two of the networks need wildcard SSL certs (which I already have).

If anyone needs to install SSL for their entire network, use WP Encrypt from Felix Arntz. It installs a Let’s Encrypt cert using SAN. Be sure to install the credentials it provides on your server for both the root domain AND the wildcard sub-domain. There is currently a 100 domain limit on each cert (imposed by Let’s Encrypt for browser performance). However, Let’s Encrypt is open to raising the limit upon request.

Are you sure that you mean reely wildcard-subdomain? I think you mean multidomain, because letsencrypt can’t produce a wildcard ssl-cert for domains like *.example.com or *.subdomain.example.com. You need to know the full domainname.

    Letsencrypt to wildcard:
“We currently have no plans to do so, but it is a possibility in the future. Hopefully wildcards aren’t necessary for the vast majority of our potential subscribers because it should be easy to get and manage certificates for all subdomains.” https://letsencrypt.org/docs/faq/
