Multi-Select within the same taxonomy – via Rest API

Please consider adding the ability for filtering custom post types within the same taxonomy based on more than one value. Example: ../custom_Post_Type?tag=dog&tag=cat

Please enable this functionality to WordPress core so that a plugin is not needed and it adds more incredible value to the WordPress REST API
