Where did you change this value? On what admin screen?

https://www.wordpresssite.com/wp-admin/network/site-settings.php?id=2 under the Settings tab. Didn’t seem to have any effect on the actual upload directory.

You need to change that in wp-config so it works network-wide.

I don;t think changing the uploads folder for one site will work.
