Ok, I’ve tanked about two days into trying to figure this out and NOTHING is working. I am acutely aware that this could mean that I am missing something, or have been attacked by the demon of evil blogs, hell-bent on ruining my week.

Here is what I have tried thus far.

    1. Disabling all plugins.
    2. Switching to 20xx themes.
    3. Over-writing everything not in wp-content with core files.
    4. Checking wp-config (no extra space at end, correct MS settings)
    5. Checking htaccess (default MS code is used)
    6. Checking httpdconf (Allow Overrides All is there, in two places actually fyi)

Is there anything else I can try?

Hmmm. Now one of our sites works, but the other does not. The settings are the same via NetworkAdmin->Sites->Settings(for each site).

The one that does work is mapped. Eg. development.domainname.com

Whereas the one whose name is based on being a subdomain of the network rook does not, Eg. childsite.development.rootsite.com
