Multi-Site network

AM attempting to set up a multisite network on my site. I tried this before, unsuccessfully, when I was less adept at such things. I then made changes to wp-config-sample.php but appear not to have successfully saved them. (I did this with filezilla ftp.) Now on my dashboard, when I click “Tools” I don’t get the multi-site network option. As I’m writing this I think a solution might have dawned on me. having looked at other resources. When I fumbled with the filezila before, I was unaware of cPanel/subdomains option. I’ll try that! Thank you for your support!
