Multi Site WordPress problem

    OK… answering my own question for anyone interested. The network activated widget doesn’t appear in the plug-in list for each site, but actually appears in the widgets *instead* of the normal Meta widget
    – in effect it removes the normal meta widget for all sites which is not at all good :/

    Ideally it should be possible to activate it on a per site basis!
