    Hello!
We’ve been informed we need to start collecting taxes for out-of-state sales for many states since the Supreme Court ruling (South Dakota v Wayfair). Basically, it doesn’t matter if there is a nexus in the state or not, states can charge a sales tax for out-of-state/online orders. Right now, we need to collect taxes on NY, MASS, and Vermont. Is there an option to collect taxes in all state that require out-of-state sales tax?

    Hi @dansbrawn,

WooCommerce Services only supports charging taxes for customers in the state where your store is based (Shop base address).

If you’d like to charge taxes for different states, you’ll want to disable automated taxes and manually configure the tax rates you’d like to charge for the different locations.

Every different location? For WA state, we also must charge “destination tax” which is the sales tax based on the zip code… Are we expected to manually put in every tax rate for each zip code? That’s impossible to do manually. Is there another plug-in we can use to auto-calculate taxes for online sales nationally/internationally?

If the OP still needs a solution, this one looks ok and is free depending on which state your business is in: https://taxcloud.net/pricing/automated-compliance/

Disclaimer: I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks fine.

If the automated taxes feature of WooCommerce Services does not fit your business needs when it comes to tax collection, you will indeed have to either enter tax rates manually – or find a different solution that could automate that process for you.

Thanks for sharing the link to that other plugin. It might help someone else!
