I have a multilanguage website with Polylang. This plugin forces me to put the meta description of the home page in settings and that makes the same meta description appear in all languages. Is there a way to disable this so that google takes the meta description of the home page of each language?

Are you using the same home page (same url) for the different languages? Can you show me an example? You don’t have separate folder URLs or subdomain URLs for the various languages?

Yes, the same URL but with /language code at the end

    /en
    /it
    /pt

It’s different page for every language

    Thank you

AFAIK, Polylang helps you create posts or pages in different languages and it doesn’t translate the Posts. So you should have a static page set as your home page in your polylang default language and have separate pages (with translated content) for the other languages, mapped to that static page used as Home page for your default language. When you do that, the description you set up for those mapped pages (written in other languages) will be used as the meta description for them.

That’s right, and that’s how I have it configured, I have pages translated in each language and each one has its meta description, but the Platinum SEO description always has priority because if I delete the meta description in your plugin it also disappears from all languages.

@tenuncuerpo10 I have released an update. The challenge was to get the Page IDs of mapped front Pages in other languages. Let me know if the update works. You will have to enable “Use the Static Front page’s Platinum SEO Attributes” in Settings -> Home. Let me know if it helped.

    This is what has happened:

    – I have installed the new version of platinum SEO
    – I have activated the new option “Use the Static Front page’s Platinum SEO Attributes:” ON”
    – Now the description on the home page of each language is this “% description%”

    – I made sure to clean all the caches, I have also checked that the SEO configuration options of the theme I use (Divi) are disabled. (I tried later to activate them but also they are ignored)
    – I have verified that each home page has its meta description and that the Platinum SEO meta description option is “ON” on each page

Have you entered the description in the “Techblissonline Platinum SEO and Social Meta Box” on the Pages chosen as the Front Page?
