Multilingual URL issue

  • Hello there, I’m using your plugin “XML Sitemap & Google News” 5.3.3 with Worpress 6.1.1 and WPML Multilingual CMS 4.5.14.
    In the sitemap, I get some URLs that aren’t correct.
    For example, the italian language page is correct:
    …/servizi/corso-altium-design/
    While the english version is wrong:
    …/en/services/corso-altium-design/
    Actually it shloud be:
    …/en/services/altium-design-course/
    Please note that the online website URLs are all correct, I see the wrong URLs in the sitemap only.
    Moreover, if I click the wrong links, I still get to the correct URLs (maybe Worpress redirects it automatically).
    I think I’m missing something in the process, could it be because when I create the English versions I do that by using the WMPL copy feature?

    Any help would be very appreciated,

  • Hi Pietro, it sounds like I’ll have to revisit/fix the WPML compatibility. You did nothing wrong. Luckily the redirect is there to prevent search engines reaching 404 pages…

    An update to WPML compatibility is planned but I cannot say when it will arrive.

    Do you have a Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools account? Make sure to submit your sitemap index there so you will get a warning when any of the redirects fail.

    Hi @ravanh thank you for your reply. Actually I have discovered my issue thank to Google Search Console that is showing these errors (page with redirects).
