multilingual use

I am trying to make my widgets show for correct language…. i tried making the widgets multilingual but they show up in both english and french… how do i get it so that the english widgets show up only in english and the french only in french? right now they both show up in english and french when in french site . On english site they just are in english but not sure how to make show just the french version of widget show up on french site?
