• Hi, everyone! I’m still learning the ropes of designing websites. I’m doing one for a friend and I’ve encountered a bit of a challenge.

My friend wants there to be a ‘Multimedia’ page where he can upload pictures and video, preferably sorted by date. Embedding works, but it looks really bad and incoherent. I’ve tried a bunch of plugins for “creating video and image galleries”, but nothing really works. Sure, you can have your image galleries and your video playlists (or sliders, carousels, slideshows…), but they don’t look good together on the same page.

Closest I came to success was when using a plugin called Gmedia Gallery. The pics look good, the video player does too, but when it comes to actually putting them together on the same page… My CSS chops aren’t quite there yet. And everything needs to be responsive with no overlap. Definitely not there yet. I really hope someone on here can help. Any and all tips are much appreciated!

Nobody on here knows how to throw some pics and video together and make it look acceptable?

It would be awesome if someone better than me at CSS helped out.
Or not, you know, I’m not telling you what to do ??

Your question is still vague. Please link to a Webpage with the CSS issue.

Why not use a different gallery plugin? And post a link to the site. No way to help without seeing what the problem is.

And BTW, you posted in no man’s land of the plugin’s forum…

I would say this is the right place to post when asking for a plugin.

Shouldn’t help with a specific plugin should be on that plugin’s own forum – i.e.?

Hello! I’m not asking about a specific plugin, I’m asking whether someone knows of any free plugins that could get the job done. Grand Media came the closest. Sorry if my question was vague, I’ll try to make it clearer.

I want to create a mixed media page. Photos + video. Sorted into different albums/galleries by date would be best. One of you suggested I tried a different plugin? I’ve tried ~8. When I mentioned CSS, it’s because if I were to settle for the Grand Media plugin, it would need styling that I don’t currently know how to do.

I didn’t link to the site because there’s nothing to link to: the page is blank, because nothing has worked. But basically, the CSS issue is that I can’t create a coherent mixed gallery using the GM plugin. I can make separate galleries, but they show up disjointedly on the page. What I can do is create a video player type thing, a small gallery to go alongside it (I’ve made them more or less the same height, plus that can always be changed), and a larger gallery to fill the rest of the page beneath the player and the small gallery. To do that, I’d need to know how to position an item precisely on a page (which I do) while still maintaining the responsiveness (which I sorta do), and preventing overlap (which I don’t). Hope this clears up any confusion my initial post might have created.

So if someone can recommend a free plugin, awesome. If not – here’s the page, I need help making it look good (domain looks funny, we’re fixing that atm): https://fotoescalera.com/drinkinenglish.es/multimedia/
I’ve brought back the GM plugin, enjoy the baby elephants.

Okay, then you need to post for support on your plugin’s support section here:

Alright, thanks, will do! ?? Still, if someone else sees this and knows a different plugin that could work, I’m open to suggestions.
