Multiple Authors Showing on Posts

  • When we updated the plugin – we’re now showing multiple authors on posts in the backend. We’d like that to go away. We only want one author on the post. Is there a setting in this we can toggle off?

    First off, thanks for reaching out to us. Since the released version is the major update for the plugin in order to give a facility to select single or multiple authors for any post, would you please mention if you are facing any difficulties for any special case? But definitely, we will include the toggle feature in our future updates.

    We are. The editorial process for our site is weird where one author will start it, but a overall editor will fix. It starts with a generic author and ends with a specific author. Since the update – BOTH authors will show as authors for the post – but the first author is the only that displays on the post. We need to be able to assign it to one an only one author. We tried removing the generic author – and it still displayed the original author on the forward facing post.

    Example – Able Starts a Post. Adds Content. Author Box Shows Abel. Baker finishes editing the post. Author Box now shows Able & Baker as Co-Authors. Only Able’s Name shows on the forward facing post. Post should be attributed to Baker on the forward facing site. We delete Able as an author of the post. Only Baker’s name shows on the backend, however – Able’s name still shows on the front forward facing side.

    Another issue we saw last night with the updated plugin was only stories published during the month were showing on the author pages. When I reverted the plugin back – all stories they’ve ever written showed up on the author page.

    Hello again,
    We have updated the plugin with Multi-Author to enable disable functionality from the WP Post Author admin menu. It is under WP Post Author>Settings> Multi-author tab, which has been disabled by default.
    Also, other issues on listing all posts from the specific author have been fixed. Would you please check and confirm that?
