    Hello Dylan,

Firstly I want to give you a great compliment for designing this plugin, my girlfriend and I are both schoolteachers in the Netherlands and have started to migrate our current quizzes from HotPotatoes to HD Quiz.

Secondly the interface is very user-friendly and we enjoy using it, so we definitly will be making a contribution for your effords for making this available in WP in your spare time and we hope to be using this for a long long time for our students.

We were wondering if its possible to add multiple choice questions where students have to put in not only one, but multiple good answers. For example naming the three most importants tasks of a Farao in Egypt. Because this not being a option currently, or I must be overlooking something, I converted my questions to ‘NIET’ (dutch for NOT) so students still have to think on this, but I would like this to be added if thats possible.

Also my girlfriend (German-teacher) is wondering if a fill-in assignment is a option to be added, where students have to fill in the good answer in the middle of a sentence.

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work,
    Mike and Larissa

    Hi Mike and Larissa,
thanks for the support; appreciate it!

The latest v1.8x of HD Quiz was a massive overhaul to the way things work from a development side with one of the major reasons being that it is now possible to add “custom question types”. For example, the “text-based answer” (type the answer) question type is brand new for this version.

More importantly to you, it means that I will be adding additional question types as HD Quiz progresses further.

Currently, a new question type is in development called Select All That Apply: the user needs to select ALL of the applicable options and the question is marked as correct only if each correct answer was selected (I believe this is what you are looking for).

As for a “fill in the blank” type question – I do plan to add a more dedicated way to do this in the future, but for now, I recommend using the Text-based answer and putting in / drawing a “blank” in the question title.

For example: “2 X ___ = 4” where the user would need to enter “2” as the answer in the text box. Here is an image of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/TabR5jm.png

Gefeliciteerd met je fantastische examenresultaten en veel succes voor de toekomst.

    Hi Dylan,

Thank you very much for your clear answer to our questions. I believe that is exacly what I meant (select all that apply) and I will be looking forward for it being added to the plugin. Great!

We will follow your suggestion for using the text-based answer for the time being, hopefully the feature of “fill in the blank” someday will be added.

Keep up the good work and thanks again for your amazing quiz-plugin.

Hopelijk gaan we er komend schooljaar veel leerlingen blij en wijzer mee kunnen maken.

    Hello hffmeister,

The “Fransman Champolion” is in reality “Champollion” with 2 l, not “the lion of Champo”.

Like you, I tested lots and lots of quizzes plugins, and finally I chose HD Quiz. I don’t know how long have you been on the web, but I used Quizshock years and years ago. It was a good PHP + MySQL + Flash script too…

    Hi Michel,

Thank you for pointing that out. I edited the question on my quiz.

I learned about HotPotatoes on my university-study and have been using that since, but it has been outdated for some time now. Me and my girlfriend have been searching for something like HD Quiz for some time, but I’m sure this will be a long-term solution for creating quizzes for our students. Earlier we also started used WP Pro-Quiz, but that one is no longer available now. Now have to migrate all that HotPotatoes-stuff to HD Quiz.. but confident it will be a easy proces.

Quizshock is new to me, but its good to hear that you also have chosen HD Quiz after trying out multiple options on the web.

    Hi
When can we expect new question type “Select All That Apply”?
