Multiple columns in add/edit post/page

Going to the WordPress main Dashboard page, the screen options allow you to have 1-4 columns for the screen layout.

When you get to the Add/Edit Post/Page pages (that is, /wp-admin/post-new.php and /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=page), the max columns you get to pick is only 2.

For someone who has several custom taxonomies, fields and meta boxes, it would be really useful if I could choose maybe 3 or 4 columns instead of having to scroll down each time to select from custom options.

(If this is possible, please point me. I would be very, very grateful! I’ve searched and found nothing on this.)
