Multiple content blocks in post with different types of content

  • I’m trying to edit my Single Page template using the block editor.

    I want to put a gallery in one area, then the text content in another.

    I tried to do this by adding two Content blocks and then editing each one, but I notice that each edit syncs with the other Content block.

    How should I do this differently?

    The template layout I’m actually trying to create for single posts is:

    • Gallery slider content of post
    • Title
    • Custom field
    • Custom field
    • Text content of post
    • Custom field
    • Custom field

    The difficulty I’m having is how to have the gallery content at the top of the post but the text content separate, amongst those custom fields.

    Sorry about the slow reply.

    Post content exists as one contiguous block of content. It’s impractical to separate out one part of content, then later on use the left over content. In theory it’s possible, but it’d be very inefficient.

    I suggest implementing one or the other as another custom field.
