Multiple customers for same email in Stripe

Hello there, I’m facing an issue with Stripe. When a user add a new credit card in woocommerce /add-payment-method/ page the card is successfully added in woocommerce but Stripe creates a new customer with this new card instead of just adding the new credit card in the same customer account. Why is this happening? We now have multiple customers with the same email and some of them are being charged in the old card instead of the new one.
Can I prevent this to happen and just add the new card to the same customer?

Since I starded the woo + Stripe in our website (12/23). But I just noticed today because one client was charged in their old card instead of the new one. When I searched for their email in Stripe they have 2 accounts now, one with the old card and another with the new card. So I guess Stripe is creating new accounts when a user adds a new credit card in Woocommerce. Here are the system status:
