Multiple day events

  • Hi, I installed the CalPress Event Calendar plugin, and so far I’m really loving it. The only problem is that my weekend workshops now show up at 3 separate events—one for each day, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Any way to make this just one event listing instead of 3?

    This very quickly fills up my list of upcoming events. I could list all of the sub-events that occur over the entire weekend, but that would be something like 5 separate events. Since these events are taking place all over the country, my visitors need to be able to scan the upcoming event list and find out what’s coming to their region. This won’t work when two weekend workshops fill the entire sidebar.

    gaurand – so two options

    1 – if your events are full day – single event over three days

    2 – Create separate categories for each region and then use our short code to create specific calendars for each region that would only show the event for that region. The widget can also be limited by category so you could use a different one with each region if you have separate pages.

    @aspire2, I submitted a similar ticket a month ago with no resolution. Your suggestion doesn’t answer @gaurand’s issue. His issue has nothing to do with categories or regions. We’re having display problems with the widget showing multi-day events as separate events in the sidebar, thus filling up the sidebar. We could create a million different categories, but your plugin will still show each day of a single event (spanned over several days) as a separate event.

    I wish there was a solution… Other than this drawback, it’s an amazing plugin.
