  • WP multi-site really isn’t designed with that in mind. There are scripts to allow for multiple databases, but not an individual database for each site, more for scenarios where there are thousands of sites and you want to spread them out.

    Thank you miklb!

    Damn… ??

    Scripts like HyperDB?
A better solution can be using symlinks?

wp-admin, wp-includes and root files (no wp-config.php) are symlinked from a default installation source and wp-content and wp-config.php are locally defined?

    Thank you.

Maybe something like wp-hive is better for what you have in mind?

I’m curious as to why you need separate DBs like that? Multisite is built to have some measure of cross over between sites and tables (like there’s a wp_blogs table that refs all sites and so on). If yiu really need them to have totally separate DBs, you may not want to use multisite.

    @andrea_r: thank you, *reading* ??

@ipstenu: because clients needs to access to their own db tables ( and not other ones ?? ).

    Sorry for my poor english.

    Thank you.

They need direct access to the DB? Then you probably don’t want to use multisite at all, since there is some crossover.

Are you sure they need to log into the DB, though? What are they doing in it that they need straight up SQL login and access? I host a lot of people who never touch their DBs for years.

    hehehe lucky you ??

My problem is basically called “udpates”.
I just want to avoid single updates for every wordpress installation. Multisite is nice, but the problem is that they have they own scripts that sometimes access to a category or a page.

    Any idea?

    Thank you

External scripts? Eh. I’d use RSS to grab data instead.
