Multiple entries on seperate pages

  • Is it possible to have multiple entries on separate pages from the index. I have a blog on my home page and i want to have a second page that is basically another blog, but instead i want to use it as a portfolio. Each portfolio item would need to be a separate entry.

    Is this possible. Right now all it looks like i can do is post one entry per page?

  • I don’t think you can have literally multiple blogs but you could try having a category called “Porfolio” and then use a template to call that category on that page so when you load the page it loads all the posts from that one category. It’s an idea?

    I was going to ask the same question with a twist.
    First, Edd, how would I do what you are suggesting? What I wanted to do was set up a page that I could call up items from various categories that may pertain to the subject of my page. Can I do that?
    Also, when would I use ‘sub-pages’ on my site?

    Don’t mix Pages and categories. Unfortunately, in WP the word Pages has a special meaning, so better not use it when talking about categories; Pages do NOT have categories.

    If you create different categories you can also have different Category_Templates for them.
    If you don’t want to show posts froma certain category on your mainpage (ah, can’t avoid ‘page’…) – you try a plugin/script that excludes categories.
